Accelerated Reader Refresher

As a reminder to our returning students and an introduction to our newest students,  I wanted to post the steps you can use to find a book on your level from the St. Mary's Website homepage.  First you need to go to:
St. Mary's Website

Then you need to click on the tab called "Academics" -

When you click on the "Academics" tab there will be a drop-down menu that will include "Libraries" so click on that and you will then see this page -

You will then go to the heading on the right side of the page that says, "ECC/LS Library Resources" and click on the heading beneath it that says "Accelerated Reader" and you will see this page -
Where it says "Book Level" you can put in numbers from 0.0 on up and then click on "Get my list!" for a long list of books to choose from.  Our Lower School library contains many of the titles in the Accelerated Reader library and I feel certain that your daughter will be able to find at least one that she will enjoy reading!  If you have any questions please contact me, the librarians, or your homeroom teacher.  Happy Reading:))

  1. Is this to look up books? You can't read the books online, right? I'm sure this is because we are NEW to the LS. Thanks so much and hope you had a nice long weekend.

  2. Great question! Yes, it is to look up books in a specific reading range that is determined by the STAR test (it gives the teacher a "baseline" to go from but the students are encouraged to try reading books that interest them no matter what the "level" if they aren't too difficult for them to read). We usually tell the students to read a page and if there are 5 or more words on it that they can't understand, then the book is too difficult they won't enjoy reading it!
