Educational Apps

I recently ran across an article listing some of the best educational apps of 2013 and I wanted to share them with you.  I am also including two recording apps  (iTalk and One Minute Reader) that can be used on an iPod, iPad, or iPhone that I posted at the beginning of the school year.  I have used these in the Think Tank with students and it is a terrific way to build oral reading fluency.  You can have your daughter record herself reading a short passage or book emphasizing one specific skill each time (like reading accurately the words as they are on the page, pausing at the appropriate times for punctuation marks, or reading with expression).  I encourage them to record the same passage multiple times so that they can compare them and see how much better they get with each new recording.  Also, for our younger students, please don't forget to review your Frye words over the break:)  Happy Holidays to all!!
