Lumiere at the Lichterman!

Our First and Second graders recently completed this year's St. Mary's Lower School Think Tank entry into the Lichterman Scarecrow Contest. Our creative students came up with the idea of having a "solar-powered Lumiere" character from Beauty and the Beast. After researching the solar-powered idea (which proved to be too expensive and too complicated) we decided to make our scarecrow a "wind powered Lumiere". The scarecrows can be found scattered around the Lichterman Nature Center from September 6th through November 16th. The scarecrows will be judged by Master Gardeners in four categories: Best School Entry, Most Creative, Greenest and Best Critter. If you go between now and September 30th you can also be a judge and vote for your favorite scarecrow. I would encourage our St. Mary's families to go check out the scarecrows!
