I wanted to let you all know about some wonderful speakers that we have coming to nearby Memphis schools.  The first event is at the Bodine School and one of the authors of a great book, Late, Lost and Unprepared: A Parents' Guide to Helping Children with Executive Functioning will be presenting.  This book is one that I like and it is listed on this blog as recommended resource.

The next two nights child psychologist Dr. John Rosemond will be speak in Siena Hall on the St. Agnes-St. Dominic campus.

John Rosemond Coming to SAASDS Child psychologist, author, speaker & syndicated columnist John Rosemond is coming to St. Agnes Academy-St. Dominic School  for a two night speaking event February 4 and 5. Both presentations are open to the public and will be held in Siena Hall on the SAA-SDS campus at 7:00 p.m. Tickets are $15 or $25 for both events.

Happy New Year!

I hope that 2015 brings us all lots of health and happiness!  One way to keep track of the things that happen this year is to start a daily journal or diary.  If writing in it once a day is too much, try writing down notes about your week on the weekend.  Another fun way to enjoy writing is to use interesting journal prompts and here are a few to get you started:

It snowed 5 feet and school is cancelled for a week!  What would you do to keep from getting bored?

Tell what your day would be like if you lived in an igloo.

Write a story called, "The Funny Snowman Adventure".

Would you rather live in a place that gets lots of snow or a place that never gets snow?  Tell what you think and why.

Martin Luther King, Jr. wanted people to live in peace.  Describe your idea of a peaceful day.

Every snowflake is unique.  I am as unique as a snowflake because...

Write about a winter day.  Describe its colors, smells, tastes, and sounds.
